Bike Workshops in Europe and beyond

Check this map for Bike Workshops in Europe and beyond

Becycle, the workshop and cycle community of Aberdeen is in a way sponsoring our trip as the three bikes we are taking have come to the workshop as a donation and have been repaired and made ready to go with the help of the workshop's facilities and more importantly with reliance on the knowledge of the community's many very active members.
Here credit also has to go to the dedicated members of the Edinburgh Bike Station, whose knowledge has helped us a great deal when having called in to repair the bikes of co-traveler Marco.

We are hoping to pass by a few more bike workshops of a similar kind throughout our travel, hopefully not only in order to maintain our bikes, but also with the intention to establish more personal and direct relations between the different projects with a view on exchanging ideas and knowledge on the concepts and the functioning of the workshops in a variety of distinctly local circumstances and situations.

Moreover it is our plan to take some video footage to be able to make a short documentary upon completion of the travel in order to evidence some of our encounters and to provide an insight into the world of these open source inspired bicycle projects.

Second Planning Meeting

More than a month after the first meeting we now managed to buy some essential equipment for the tour.
Now the only thing still somehow missing are two more functional bikes, so that we can actually start cycling xD.

Nevertheless we have fixed the date of departure to the 1st of August 2012. Lets hope we can get the bikes ready to go in time.
